Emissions Trading System (EU ETS)
Legal Excellence
At its inception in 2003, the European Emissions Trading Directive (ETSD) was a straightforward set of rules. Since then, however, the European legislator has significantly expanded the European Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) in terms of both depth and breadth. In addition to operators and aircraft operators, shipping companies are also obliged to surrender emission allowances (EU allowances, EUA) for emissions from 2024 onwards. And the German national emissions trading system (nEHS), which has already been in operation since 2021, will be gradually transferred to the new European fuel emissions trading system (EU ETS 2) by 2027. The German law firm Kronsteyn is your partner in managing legal issues in connection with emissions trading, for example in connection with allocation decisions, emissions reporting or new business models.
Kronsteyn is your partner for legal matters in money laundering and sanctions law - as legal advisor in structural matters and as legal representative before authorities and courts.
